We're back......After a long 2 month and 9 day lay off, the Hefflinger's blog is being updated!! Since the last update, lots has been going on. Are you ready?!
Late February we partied in Maui for 7 glorious days!! Our trip began by flying 1st class one way to Maui!! We partied like it was 2009 for sure. We were able to get a Jeep (convertible) for the week. I might add that the top is impossible to get back up! Joey and I battled for 2 days before we finally had enough muscle to do it! We decided the convertible wasn't really worth it, and left the top up for the rest of the week. We swam, Gazebo'd three times (our favorite restaurant), rode ATV's (very cool), glow in the dark minature golfed, BBQ'd steaks, ate at Hard Rock Cafe, took a sunset cruise. Of course Joey was feeding his face (they made his very own food) when a whale came all the way out of the ocean just feet from the boat!! WoW!! We also took in a luau and was pile driven into Polo Beach by a sneaker wave. What a wave it was!!! We both ate sand. We then went into the Aladdin looking, very, very, expensive hotel and used their facilites and I proceeded to dump all of the sand from my suit onto their amazingly buffed floor. OOooppps!!!! Joey was picking sand from his teeth for weeks. Our room was great. We had a wonderful ocean front view with a flattened gecko smeared to the lanai floor. We were not able to snorkel because the wind and waves were too much. However, on our last day we put on our gear and stood on the beach anyway. During our snorkel fest on the beach, we did see a giant turtle. I was so excited and Joey was more than happy to make fun of my excitement. He still brings up that darn turtle! Joey wants to know if you took a doodie on a turtle would it then be called a turdle?
We cried the entire way home in Coach! I guess the fun had to end sometime!
In March, we housesat at the Anderson's. We had a great time living like royalty and spent a lot of time playing the Wii and enjoying their popcorn machine!
So, I guess that brings us to current. We had a great Easter. We are just coming out of our cheesecake induced comas. We watched the Passion on Thursday night. Wow! What a reminder of the sacrifice that was made. Humble pie!! Saturday night we went to Jim and Paulette's for easter eve. We dyed 46 eggs!! Joey made his infamous Eggbo..Really its an egg that has a headband like Rambo with a smiley face. He was so proud! 2nd place egg went to the egg that read Miriam has Gas. Hmmmm......how did they know?! I thought they would blame the eggs! Aunt Cindy made a surprise visit. We had so much fun dying eggs, eating lots of food and watching Joey destroy us in cards. On Sunday, we enjoyed church and then went to a family gathering where there was So, so much food!! It was so great to be with family and again Joey destroyed me in Pool. It seemed to be a pattern this weekend. Joey says every weekend.
Well, I guess that is about it for now..We are just working and Joey is now coaching baseball with Jim Schlabach. So our weeknights are spent mostly at the baseball field. He is doing a great job. I'm so proud of my coach!!! More updates to come in a few weeks or months.....

Birthday Weekend!!
Birthday Weekend Hiking Extravaganza!! Joey did the most amazing Birthday weekend ever. From my last post you saw the dozen roses. That night we had pizza delivered. You heard right, delivery. We found a place in town that does Gluten Free Pizza and delivers. We then nestled in for the night with some classics. Maid of Honor and Talladega Nights. Saturday morning we drove to Salem and went to our favorite Winery. On the way home we stopped at Silver Creek Falls for a few hours of hiking. We picked the worst trail ever, but still had a great time. Sunday of course was Superbowl. Monday was packed full of adventure! We packed lunches and headed down the Old Columbia river Gorge Highway. We hiked 3 falls including the top of Multnomah falls. What a climb. Later that night we had pizza at my favorite place in Portland with Jim and Paulette and played some games. It was so much fun and what a way to get out and get some fresh air!!
Hawaii is only 2 weeks away. We are getting so excited. Each morning we wake up and count down how many more days we have! We love you all.

the smell of roses in the dental chair
It is confirmed...My husband is a hopless romantic
and I am reaping the benefits this weekend! My birthday
is on Monday..So my husband has deemed it a birthday
weekend. This morning I had an early dentist appointment.
In the middle of having my teeth shined up one of the assistants ran in my room informing me that my husband had arrived. I laughed at her telling her it was impossible. Joey was at work! Well, I was wrong. My birthday started with nice clean teeth, but now with a dozen roses in my lap and my husband telling me I had nice shades on.
He made my entire day. Just knowing that someone is there and that they are glad you were born makes life that much sweeter. I have no idea what is in store for the rest of the weekend, but if this morning was just the beginning I know its going to be a good one!

Please forgive me as I am a new blogger. I have so enjoyed many family members blogs, Shannon's blog, and as of late Nate and Michelle. What a great way to keep in contact and up to date with those you love! Well, I think its great now because I have a few minutes to myself and the apartment is clean. :)
Joey and I are excited to share our lives with you. It's my hope that we could encouarage you and maybe even give you a hearty laugh or 2.
We love you all.
